Rescue crews on skis and snowcats battled blizzard conditions Tuesday as they searched for backcountry skiers caught in an avalanche in Northern California. Officials said 16 people were caught in the slide near Castle Peak in the Tahoe area. Six have been accounted for, while 10 remain missing.
